As we look towards Easter the James Hannington Memorial Trust highlight projects we would like to invite the church family to support. This year, they are:
.Project 1:Living Hope Ministries
Dear friends at BH
You have always been encouraging to me as I visit from time to time to share God's word and update about LIVING HOPE. This year it has been my vision to bring together in Nairobi the leaders of the many groups who receive telephone ministry. The people are so enthusiastic and hungry for God's word. So to teach them live and work on how to make this ministry more effective is very important. We accommodate and feed them and have helped them with travel costs but only when they arrive. They need to be there at their own expense first. So some of them are on the road many hours.
As Living Hope began in Kenya in 1994 it seemed good to have a 25 year Celebration with the Kenyans and so Saturday April 4th we will have representatives from Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Congo. We are also going to have two pastors from the Sudan who will come at their own expense.
Aubrey representing Malawi and Mozambique has no passport but we will receive telephone greetings from him.
LHM Africa now consists of 13 countries and I have team members to send to them so we have much to celebrate and thank God for.
Your gifts will enable us to bless all these folk and send them back to their countries renewed and refreshed to serve the Lord. It will be sad for me because I must hand the baton on but of course our love, prayers and teaching by telephone continue God bless and thank you very much Richard and Elaine.
Project 2: The Milsons with Crosslinks in Spain
We are now two years into our time in Valencia and things have already changed a great. Language is progressing, friendships are developing, taste buds are changing, heat sensitivity is diminishing and perhaps most significantly Julian is now the Rector of the Anglican Church of Valencia (since October 2019).
God has been so good to us and we love being part of the church community here. We’ve had the joy of seeing people grow in their faith as well as coming along to a Protestant church for the first time in their lives. There is so much gospel work to be done with so few workers here in Spain and we count it a real privilege that you are partnering with us.
Our basic costs are fairly high and we are entirely reliant upon the churches and individuals who so generously give to our work. One significant contributor has been supporting us with £9000 a year. This support will shortly come to end leaving a substantial hole in our budget. We are so grateful to God for the help you are able to give us.
The Trustees of JHMT are pleased to confirm that the Christmas Appeal raised around £9,400. On behalf of Off The Fence and the Open Doors Syria project, we are grateful to God for this provision towards valuable support for these 2 charities. Thank you.
Bishop Hannington Church supports mission all over the world. Through the charitable trust, the James Hannington Memorial Trust, the church gives money and other resources to support gospel work in many different nations.
