Please pray
  • Give thanks for the annual Katherine Christian Convention held in May, which brings together Indigenous church groups from across the Northern Territory for a weekend of worship, Bible teaching and fellowship. Pray that all those who attended will have been encouraged and strengthened to keep living for Jesus in their home communities.
  • Pray that many Indigenous Australians will read and be blessed by the Plain English Version (PEV) scriptures that have been translated so far, especially the newly-published books of Genesis and Jonah.
  • Please pray for my continued progress on the PEV translation of 1 John, for my colleague Kathy as she reviews my drafts, and that we will find the 'right' Indigenous test-readers who can help us fine-tune the translation and ensure it is suitable for the target audience.
  • Give thanks for the opportunity to attend Mission Awareness Week at Moore Theological College in Sydney next month. Pray for a good time connecting with students, sharing the ministry needs in Northern Australia and helping those who are discerning where God may be leading them after their studies.
  • I’ve begun to build a relationship with translators from the Liyagawumirr [LEE-ah-GAH-woo-meer] language group and am looking forward to further opportunities to support their work. Pray that we will be able to successfully plan and run a translation workshop on their homeland in the near-ish future.
  • Give thanks for the respite of Dry Season, and for the various visitors and volunteers we'll be hosting in Darwin over the next few months. Pray that their time with us will inspire them to keep praying for, supporting, and encouraging others to be a part of God's work among Indigenous Australian language speakers.
  • Please pray for wisdom as I discuss some personal budget adjustments with Wycliffe for the coming year (in light of the rising cost of living) and that God will continue to provide the funds necessary to keep me in my role.
