Festive

This week we are praying for FESTIVE who seek to equip and inspire Gospel work in the often-overlooked area of Further Education (16-18 year olds).

They support individual students and Christian unions around the country offering mentoring, encouragement, prayer, and free resources.
We are always so grateful for BH’s faithful support and prayer through the years!
 (please note that some names may be changed for safeguarding):

• Just before Christmas Isla had a ‘Q&A’ session about her faith over dinner with six of her friends. It went really well. Pray that Isla will be able to build on this conversation and that it would be fruitful in her friends’ lives.
• Emily uses social media to post about her faith and she is finding that other young people are responding with comments of their own. Pray that her posts will be an encouragement and a challenge to those who read them.
• Last term Henry and David both asked for permission at each of their own schools to start a CU. They are both waiting for a response. Please pray that they will get permission and that CUs would be established at both these schools.
• Praise God that Penny was able to set up a CU at the end of last term. Please pray for Barney, a non-Christian who came along. Pray for Penny’s friends Ellie and Nicola. Penny gave Gospels to them for Christmas, and tracts to many more friends.
• Scattered is an online training event for sixth form Christians inspiring and encouraging them to live for Jesus at college. Please pray for our upcoming two scattered events (28th Feb and 7th Mar) for them to be well attended and for them to be helpful in equipping the young people to be ambassadors for Christ!
• Our team is in a time of change as Cathy retired (she helped to found Festive) and Karen took over her student engagement role. We are recruiting a social media worker currently – please pray that Karen would settle into her new role quickly and that God would provide the right person for the social media role (a very important one to our ministry).
• We have a wonderful team of 9 volunteers who write to, support and are committed to praying for their student volunteers. These are all either at uni, working, or on Christian gap years. Please pray for them as they serve with Festive, and as they themselves live for Jesus in their place of education/work/communities.
