Thought for the Day by Matt Jones (Associate Minister for Music)

Picture
‘The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.’ John 1:14

What a verse.

I don’t feel like I need to say much else! There is enough there to reflect on, to chew over, to meditate upon. But here are a couple of pointers to help you start:

Made His dwelling amongst us:
Just take a minute to catch how breathtaking that is. The God of this universe, of infinite power, wisdom, glory and splendour chose to pitch a tent amongst humanity; humanity mind, that is sinful and broken. The humility and love expressed here is outstanding.

Full of grace and truth:
This humble servant, who is the Glorious Son of God, is full of grace and truth. If you ever wanted to know what grace and truth looks like, it is found in its fullness in the man Christ Jesus, in every word and every action. Wouldn’t it be great to have a friend who spoke such gracious and significant words to you every day.... Oh wait, we do! He is your friend, and he is mine.

Praise God for Jesus
