Thought for the Day by Phil Moon (Vicar)Juan Carlos Ortiz. I've got one of his books on my shelves from 40 or so years ago, and one thing I remember is that he tells of how he once repeated a sermon the following Sunday. Word for word. I've never had the guts to do that! But when he was asked by his congregation why he'd simply repeated the sermon, he replied that he repeated it because no-one had done anything about it. So he thought he'd tell them again. And he threatened to deliver the same sermon for a third time if nothing changed! Don't worry, I'm not going to do the same. Instead, a small nudge. People who know about these things suggest that if we have good intentions about putting some learning or some sermon into practice but do nothing about it for 36 hours, they never will. Last Sunday we were thinking from Eph 6:18-20 about being slightly better pray-ers. v18 - "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people." So, were you going to do something about this to become a slightly better pray-er? But maybe forgot or haven't been able to do that yet? Consider yourself nudged!
