Thought for the Day by Phil Moon (Vicar)Are you getting impatient? Impatient with waiting for a vaccine? Impatiently waiting for this all to be over? Impatient with those who can’t seem to control themselves, and simply have to have a party? Impatient with the virus for mutating so readily?! Patience is one of the fruit of the Spirit, and as it’s one bunch of fruit and not a bunch of fruits, the implication is that we all need to have and exhibit them all. And if you have a concordance (if you don’t ask for one for your birthday – it’ll be an invaluable help to you as you seek to know Jesus better) do look up ‘patience’ and then look up all the references to patience, such as this one: Col 1:11 “…being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so the you may have great endurance and patience…” That’s part of Paul’s prayer for the church in Colossae, and one that we can pray for each other. Why not read the whole thing in Col 1:3-14, then turn it into your own prayer, today. And as you pray it, do make sure that you pray for yourself, and for your friends, that by His Spirit, God would be growing us all in patience.
