Thought for the Day by Hazel Barclay (Member of BH)I am using John Stott’s ‘ Through the Bible Through the Year’ in my daily Bible reading this year. At the moment I am travelling at some speed through the prophets and have had my heart warmed and my faith in our Heavenly Father deepened concerning this adventure we are all experiencing at the moment. The readings are around the 60 years of exile God’s chosen people were experiencing in Babylon. Their holy city of Jerusalem and their Temple had been destroyed and they were experiencing a strange life in a strange land but, and it is a big but, their God, the one true God, was at work in spite of their failures and disobediences as a nation. How was He at work?
