Thought for the Day by Ben Martin (Curate)To Him who is able… How are you feeling today? If you’re like me then I can feel a whole bunch of different things all at the same time. I feel tired because the kids don’t get the clocks have gone back so wake up at 5 most days. I feel happy when I see my family. I feel sad that I can’t see some of my extended family who I’m close to. I feel comforted by a warm jumper and big coat on a wet and cold day. I feel anxious that I don’t know when life will change and be back to ‘normal’. I feel frustrated with myself that I haven’t been able to do more or even do some of the jobs which I know I ought to. Maybe you feel some of those things or completely different ones. But in a world where I feel lots of different things I need to hear God’s assured word to me. In a world where life feels up and down (and sometimes back to front) I need to remember the Lord who is able. I need to remember that no matter my situation or how I feel about it, God is able to keep me from stumbling. Listen to the words of Jude 24-25: To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy – to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and for evermore! Amen. How do you feel today? Remember that Jesus Christ, crucified, raised and ascended is able to keep you and bring you home and not one thing can change that. Our feelings will go up and down and that’s ok. But our hope in Christ will never change.
