LEADERSHIP
Nick began as Vicar at BH in September 2022. He has formerly ministered at churches in the Wirral and in Birmingham, and lectured at Oak Hill Theological College. He is married to Sam and they have three teenage children.
Ben Martin has been curate since June 2020. He is married to Morag and they have three children two of whom are at school. Ben trained for ministry at Oak Hill and before that he was a Staff Worker for UCCF and a Youth, Childrens and families minister at a church in Angmering. At Bishop Hannington Ben assists with Pastoral and Teaching responsibilities as well as supervising our Volunteer Staff Worker and encouraging ministry to families. Ben is a proud Guernseyman so loves spending time at the beach and playing a whole range of sports with family and friends.
LICENCED LAY MINISTERS
Don was licensed in 2018 and mainly serves through preaching and leading. He has attended BH since 1986, and came to faith as a teenager. Don acts as consultant on charity matters to his previous firm where he was a partner, and he has a wife and grown up family |
Judith is a Church Army officer, licensed in 2020 nationally and locally as an evangelist. She has attended BH since 1986 and was baptized when she was 12. Judith leads services and preaches occasionally, She supports the church in evangelistic activities, attends some staff meetings, and is a member of a book group and a tennis group. The family includes 9 grandchildren. |
STAFF TEAM
Stephen have been working as the youth minister at Bishop Hannington Church since 2016. Before that he spent two years working at a local primary school following training at Oak Hill; having previously served with YWAM for a couple of years travelling to Malaysia, Indonesia and China. He is married to Lizzi and absolutely loves all things food and Pokémon related!
Matt has been in the role since 2016, is involved in the music life of the church from Sunday services to smaller events, and heads up a small group. Before he spent a number of years at the International House of Prayer, United States, a prayer and missions organization, where he met his wife Steph. Together they have a daughter called Ember. |
Jenny has been working as the Vicar’s PA for about 10 years and retired from the Office Assistant role last year after about the same amount of time. She heads up the Pastoral Team and puts together the monthly Prayer Diary. Jenny is married to Geoff, they have 4 children, 4 grandchildren and have been coming to BH for over 30 years. |

In 2019 Clive retired from a career working in banking and the digital print industry and took on the role of Operations Manager to lead our administrative team on a part time basis, three days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday). Clive is married to Pam and together they have been members of Bishop Hannington Church for nearly 50 years
Joy is a newcomer to Bishop Hannington church and became part of the staffing team in 2022 working four days a week (not Wednesday). Joy is married to Rob and they have four grown up children.

SUPPORT STAFF
Kate has been the Church Centre Cleaner for the last 8 years. She is married to Sean and has two grown up daughters. She has been attending BH for the last 21 years. |
Mark is the Youth and Community Centre caretaker and has been in the role since January 2019. He is married to Liz and has two children Harry and Summer. Mark combines the caretaker role while running his Travel Counsellor business having worked in the travel industry for 25 years. |
Dave has been an Associate Vicar - in the role of Lead Pastor of Holy Cross Church - since 2018. He is married to Hannah, and has two boys. Before moving here, Dave did various jobs telling people about Jesus: in Cambridge serving students, in Wimbledon serving secondary school-aged children, and in Bromley serving adults. |
After being an apprentice for two years at the church he grew up in, Rich trained in Youth and Children's Ministry at Oakhill Theological College . He has been overseeing the 0-18s work at Holy Cross since 2008 and regularly preaches and leads small groups. Rich is married to Suzi, and they have two boys. Rich enjoys good coffee, football, board games, TV boxsets and a curry or two! |
Simon was born in Wales, grew up in Peru, and served as a full-time missionary in Tanzania and Kenya. Simon is married to Ruth and has 3 grown-up children and 2 grand-daughters. After training at the London School of Theology, Simon and Ruth moved from London to Hove in September 2015..
