Students

Students are very welcome at Bishop Hannington Church, whether you're from Sussex University, Brighton University, Brighton & Sussex Medical School, Brighton Institute of Modern Music, or any of the other colleges in the city. If you're an International Student we run a Global Cafe for you on a Friday night. Our main students service is at 6:30pm on a Sunday but many students also come to our main morning service at 10am as well. Here's a little video that tells you a little bit about what we do...

We run a minibus onto campus for students before both services.

Our students are involved in many aspects of the church as there are many opportunities to serve at BH; currently we have students serving in areas of music, children's and youth work, and in audio/visual work, and even some preaching and world mission. There is also a group for students which is called 20-20 and this meets briefly after the 6:30pm Sunday service and on a Wednesday evening.

Laura - Pharmacology/Medical StudentLaura"I started coming to BH at the beginning of my third year at uni, after being invited to try it out by a friend. Although I was brought up going to church, and I would have called myself a Christian, I didn't really understand what it meant to have a relationship with God. BH has been instrumental in helping me this last year, particularly through 2020, the students and 20's group and the 'Christianity Explored' course. Now, a year later, I am proud to say that I AM a Christian, and live each day to serve Jesus!"

We also support the local Christian Unions at the universities. More info can be found below:
