Students & 20s
Freshers
If you’re a Fresher looking for a church to be part of, we’d love to welcome you to BH! There are student lunches available after each morning service, with a really classy one happenning on Sunday October 15th. To make life easy, we provide lifts to the morning and evening services (and back). Midweek, Costa Tuesdays will give you loads of help getting to know and love Jesus (lifts available on request) and if you’re interested people from the church would love to meet up with you on a 1-1 basis to help you during your time at uni.
Costa Tuesdays
A place to chat, drink coffee and think through how Jesus changes lives. We’re going to be taking a fresh look at some vintage Jesus to see how we can be more certain about how incredible He is. As that happens, we expect lives to be transformed. As we journey through the gospel of Luke, there will be plenty of time to think, chat and be changed. Costa Coffee is a chilled-out venue, so it’s a great place to bring seeking friends. See you there!
For more info, check out the Costa Tuesday website.
Sundays
On Sundays we meet together as a church family at 10am and 6.30pm, the latter being aimed a bit more at 18-30s. We praise God and listen to His word explained and preached. After the evening service we just spend time chatting over a cup of tea or coffee, getting to know each other better, discussing what we’ve learned from the teaching and how we might apply it to our lives. At 8pm we have After Hours, that’s a chance for anyone who wants to hang out for longer, we’ll often pop down to a local pub, grab a take away at someone’s house or if it’s nice, go and find an ice cream on the sea front.
Christian Unions
We’re keen to support the work of Christian Unions – students seeking to together live and speak for Jesus at their Universities. You’ll be able to find reps from Bishop Hannington Church at most CU meetings. You can get in contact with the CUs directly here:

Trips
Each year we try and go on a number of trips as a group together, these have included New World Alive and Bible by the Beach. We’ve also done away days, debating in Speakers Corner, and some other fun trips.

"I started coming to BH at the beginning of my third year at uni, after being invited to try it out by a friend. Although I was brought up going to church, and I would have called myself a Christian, I didn't really understand what it meant to have a relationship with God. BH has been instrumental in helping me this last year, particularly through the students and 20's group and the 'Christianity Explored' course. Now, a year later, I am proud to say that I AM a Christian, and live each day to serve Jesus!"

"The best thing about BH is the brilliant Bible teaching we get! And the thing that keeps me coming back is BH being a community who is striving to serve Jesus, and each other. I felt welcomed and like one of the family as soon as I arrived which made a huge difference to how I settled in to Uni life away from home."
