Sunday Services

8am – Communion Service

The 8am service is a traditional communion service led according to the Book of Common Prayer (BCP). This is a small (around 15 people), traditional service – there’s a hymn, a Holy Communion and a short sermon.

10am – Morning Service

The 10am service is an all age service, with children’s groups from 3-14, and crèche facilities. There’s a mixture of hymns, songs, and a children’s song, a short interactive talk for the children and a longer sermon – usually the practise is to preach a series through a whole book of the Bible. This is the largest service at BH, around 250 people attend. There’s tea and coffee served afterwards, people usually hang around till about midday.

6.30pm – Evening Service

The evening service is pretty informal. We sing more contemporary songs (along with the classic hymns that never get old) and listen to a sermon preached from the Bible. Sometimes this service specifically addresses topical issues or hosts a ‘Cafe Service’ with refreshments and opportunites for group discussion. Tea and Coffee are served afterwards and many people like to stay and chat with one another. There’s a youth group (KO – 14-18s) that meets in the church centre after the service, and also a group of Students and 20s who gather socially after the service.
